Laptop and Computer Resources
A laptop (sometimes known as a notebook or netbook) is a personal computer designed for mobile use. A laptop integrates most of the typical components of a desktop computer, including a display, a keyboard, a pointing device like a touchpad, also known as a trackpad, and/or a pointing stick, and speakers into a single unit. Many also have DVD readers, wireless capabilities and virtually the same capability as a desktop, but usually with somewhat smaller amounts of memory and smaller capacity harddrive.
Portable computers have evolved into the modern laptop computer, from a small niche market. As portable computers became smaller, lighter, and cheaper and as screens became larger and of better quality, laptops became very widely used for all purposes. Now, for the first time in 2010, more laptops were sold computers than desktop computers.
Because the processing power is essentially the same as desktop computers and laptops can usually do the same jobs as their big brother plus available at much cheaper costs compared to just a few years ago, the outlook for laptops looks very bright.
