5 Ideas On How To Improve Your Laptop’s Battery

I remember the first laptop I bought. The graphics were okay, the memory good enough for the basic functions and the wireless worked (to some degree).
The only problem I had with the laptop after several months, is the decrease of battery life. So I scoured the internet and the local Micro Mart magazine for some amazing tips. Here is what I found and believe it or not it actually worked.
- First take a look at the brightness of your screen. This can often be one of the major problems why your laptop’s battery will steadily lose power. So I went to my laptop’s settings and turned the brightness down a bit. I made sure it was at a comfortable level for my eyes still.
- Another great tip I discovered is the constant use of the wireless signal on my laptop. Apparently it uses quite a lot of battery power and so I disabled it when I wasn’t using it.
- The other thing I did was play around with the power scheme on my laptop. You can set it lower on a level that is comfortable. It helped a lot when I wasn’t using my laptop.
- Make sure you don’t keep a CD or DVD in the CD/DVD drive when not using it or else it will spin and try and read it. Not only is this bad for your CD, but for your laptop’s battery as well.
- What can also help is to turn off any fancy themes like Aero Theme that takes up a lot of resources.
Well those are some tips that I found were quite handy. Personally I prefer to switch off some programs I think could be using the computer’s resources extensively. Whether that works is a story for another day!
